Message To start, I'm not claiming, hands down or otherwise, that either chip is 'best' for everyone.

To have everyone read this and take everything you've said as fact would be a disservice to our community.

Ash has explained to me on a couple occassions how he came to understand the Nissan ecu code and came to figure out formulas as to how things work. To say everyone copied the JWT chip is no different than saying JWT copied the Nissan ecu and just augmented the maps for higher boost - both would simply be not true.

Also, there is indeed a difference in the mapping, and the JWT does lack (in my opinion) in the safety region.
1) Ash developed code for 5th gear mapping (only one to my knowledge) that modifies fuel delivery (I believe, maybe timing) during hard 5th gear pulls since they are usually extended and are tough on the engine.

**2) If you are using a boost controller, you are better off using Ash's chip IMHO. JWT's secondary (safety boost condition) timing maps are the SAME as the primary timing maps. So if you are in safety boost mode, and have a boost controller, with the JWT chip you will have no physical warning sign that your engine could be destroying itself if you do not hear audible detonation. Ash's chip kicks down into the *modified secondary timing map under safety boost condition, and the car feels like it dies powerwise (know this from experience... and thank you Ash for that).

That's my 2 cents. I'm not Ash, nor do I know it all, so I'm presenting this as 'what I know,' just as DVDBURN has done. It is not out of spite, and I hope it is not received that way. It goes along with having two sides of every story, and I believe it should be heard.
